The best way to store lose leaf tea.
Protect tea from moisture and air: use airtight container and make sure your spoon is dry when scooping your tea leaves
Protect tea from light: light can easily damage quality of tea and decrease its shelf life. Chose porcelain containers or stainless steel tins over glass jars.
Protect tea from heat: don’t expose your tea containers to direct sunlight and other heat sources. In very hot climate if the room is not air-conditioned keep your tea in the fridge.
Proper storage will lock in the flavors and aromas for longer. Carefully stored tea probably will not go bad for really long time (2,3 or even more years) but some teas will lose their aroma and flavor sooner then other teas , general rule is that white and green teas will not stay fresh as long as black teas. Please don’t save your teas – drink them!
